TOPIC: NASHVILLE FREEDOM RIDES & CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT

Meet Kwame Lillard, participant in the Nashville Student Movements, Freedom Rides, and SNCC for reenactments and bus tour.

Nara, Lulu & Saba get the up close and personal experience during a very intense reenactment of the lunch counter sit-in experience with Kwame. 2013 alum Paulina remembers and reflects on her experience in 2011 via the Southside Family School Facebook page: "I remember being in their exact position 3 years ago, and how it helped me understand how cruel and terrifying of a position it was to be in. This right here was probably one of my most beneficial learning experience I've gotten in my 10 years of schooling. I don't think I would have even been able to understand the sit ins the way I do today without this amazing experience. I hope [the current group] view this experience the same way.
