I am a licensed K-12 Visual Arts instructor with over 15 years of teaching experience in public, private, parochial, and community settings across the country. Some of my favorite places to teach include the Oxbow School in Napa, CA; the Minnesota Center for Book Arts in Minneapolis; and the Tarkington School of Excellence in Chicago, IL.
Much of my practice embraces a variety of media, including painting, drawing, printmaking, bookbinding, fibers, photography, collage, and sculpture. I incorporate a significant amount of art history into my lessons and offer in-depth instruction on the Elements and Principles of Design. I value process over product and encourage the exploration inherent in any art-making experience.
I love creativity and bring abundant joy, passion, and energy to my classroom. Moreover, I teach with sensitivity and empathy, with respect to different cultural and social backgrounds. I am committed to my profession and maintain a resilient sense of positivity, coupled with a strong work ethic.
