The 2014 Camping Trip at Baker Park happened this week, as 5th grader Coatlzin writes:
"Hi, my name is Cocoa and I’m going to tell you about my camping trip. I am going to tell you a little bit of everything.. Our camping trip was shortened by a lot but overall it was pretty fun. We laughed and cried."
The rain got us very wet, but we sure had fun. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped make this trip special!
Hear ye! Hear ye! Come one and all to Southside Family Charter School's Annual Meeting. This is an important event where we will hold board elections, review the challenges and successes of the past year, and welcome the coming school year.
This year's annual meeting will be held at the school on Monday, September 29th, at 6:00pm. This will be a potluck event, so please bring a dish or beverage to share if you are able.
Board elections will take place at the meeting by ballot, and members will receive information by email about all candidates in advance of the meeting. Those eligible to vote are: teachers and school staff, all current board members, and all parents and guardians of students currently enrolled at the school. We strongly encourage everyone in our community to attend the meeting, even if you are not an eligible voter. If you are interested in running for a board seat, please contact board chair Ben Kressel as soon as possible, if you have not already done so.
We look forward to seeing you all soon. Enjoy the last week of summer!
A warm hello to Southside Family Charter School's community! We are excited to get our 2014/2015 School Supply List out into the supportive hands of our community. Without your generous donations, we would all have runny noses and no pencils.
This year, we would gratefully receive any of the following supplies:
Tissue, band aids, pencils, pocket folders, markers, glue, scissors, wet wipes, paper towels, ice packs, dry erase markers, staplers, pencil top erasers, art supplies, non-perforated wide line spiral notebooks and markers, regular glue, blue painters tape.
Thank you in advance for any contributions!

Our Civil Rights History Trip travelers are back after an incredible journey. Be sure to read about their experiences and see pictures from the trip at the BK Nation website.
BK Nation is "a new national organization based in New York City (the “BK” stands for “Building Knowledge”). It is a movement of people from all backgrounds, combining grassroots activism, pop culture, technology, and social media to spark projects and campaigns led by the people, for the people. We embrace the motto “The leadership is us” to convey that any real and lasting change in our America, and on our planet, will happen because of our voices, our ideas, and our actions."
A big thank you to all the people whose support made the 2014 Civil Rights History Trip possible!
